 Situation

Forge Lumber is the largest full service lumber and construction services company in the Greater Cincinnati region with two locations.  An outside consultant was maintaining their critical IT network with a dated, small business server.  In 2009, after recognizing they relied on a single person with limited technical knowledge, the management team explored partnering with a new IT provider.  Full Service Networking (FSN) was referred based on a previous business association.   FSN was elected as the managed IT partner because of a deep team of technical engineers with extensive credentials and certifications.

Solution:

Full Service Networking (FSN) installed a terminal server environment allowing for a centralized management of data and backup.  New versions of enterprise software are now seamlessly updated on work stations and laptops regardless of physical location. An updated Windows server, new line of business software and a VMware SQL server were installed creating a dynamic IT infrastructure.  Routine maintenance through remote management ensures uptime performance against malware and other computer threats.

Results:

By collaborating with an experienced IT company to implement their network, Forge Lumber has been receiving leading-edge counsel to position their company for improved efficiency and data continuity.  Through a Managed IT approach an annual IT plan and budget is determined to ensure the deployment of new technologies to maintain a reliable network.
